Working at Learning and Work Institute

We are an independent policy, research and development organisation dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, full employment and inclusion.

We’re focused on the big questions. What impact will coronavirus have on the labour market and how should policy respond? How do we help more people to develop their skills in a changing job market? Work with us and deliver a range of high-quality policy, research and evaluation projects across learning, skills and employment.

L&W is an Investor in People (silver) award holder, keen to learn from the experiences of our staff and committed to staff development including internal and external training and support. We have a staff health and wellbeing strategy and a staff working group who are keen to drive forward health and wellbeing initiatives at work.

L&W prides itself on being a supportive and flexible employer. We recognise the importance of work-life balance for our staff and will consider part-time and flexible working arrangements including compressed hours and homeworking. We put our values into practice with various family friendly policies, which exceed the statutory minimum including carer’s leave for up to 5 paid days per year.

L&W is passionate about equality and diversity, it drives our organisational values and mission, and we are particularly keen to receive applications from all under-represented groups in society.

L&W offers generous benefits including a generous holiday entitlement, plus 8 bank holidays and 6 grace days (including Christmas shutdown) per year. We operate an annual pay review, including opportunities for pay progression and bonuses.
