L&W is delighted to become a Co-Chair of the Youth Employment Group (YEG), the UK’s largest coalition of youth employment experts. Over the coming months, L&W will be offering expertise and strategic direction based on our Youth Commission and extensive research on youth employment and skills prior to and throughout the pandemic.
The Youth Employment Group has over 200 member organisations who first came together in April 2020 to respond to the youth employment crisis which emerged from the pandemic. The coalition advocates for full and inclusive employment for young people, focussing on both the immediate and longer-term impacts of the pandemic.
Currently, the YEG is taking forward the latest recommendations for Government on the Opportunity Guarantee and addressing the key issues in youth unemployment as longer-term challenges emerge. The Group will continue to support and be guided by the Youth Voice Forum, chaired by young people to provide a space to engage with the YEG’s work and share their thoughts, experiences, challenges and ideas and solutions.
