Local co-ordination of ESOL can support effective delivery of English language programmes and help remove barriers to language learning. The government’s Integrated Communities Action Plan announced new guidance on effective practice in coordinating ESOL provision, to support greater join-up of different providers and types of provision.

Commissioned by the Department for Education, Learning and Work Institute developed new resources which encourage collaborative working and support local areas looking to develop ESOL local partnerships.

These include:

  • Case studies to provide practical insight in to the development and benefits of different types of local ESOL partnerships and networksn each local authority where there is high learner demand for provision.
  • Effective practice guidance on how to best support the development of an ESOL partnership in your local area
