Final report: A Work, Health and Skills Plan for Wales
This research delivered by Learning and Work Institute (L&W), and funded by Serco, comes at a pivotal moment to inform a significant new era for employment support in Wales. The commitment from the UK Government to devolve non-Jobcentre Plus support is part of a broader strategy, outlined in the recently released Get Britain Working White Paper, which aims to streamline and enhance employment support mechanisms across the UK.

Adult Participation in Learning Survey 2023: Wales
Year-on-year the survey finds stark and persistent inequalities, with some groups more likely to learn as an adult than others. The 2023 survey also indicated that differences between geographical regions may be widening. With devolution of learning and skills policy and funding, it is important to better understand patterns of participation at a national and regional level.

Evaluation of the In-Work Support Service
In June 2022, the Welsh Government appointed Learning and Work Institute to evaluate the latest phase of their In-Work Support Service (IWS). The evaluation started in July 2022 and was completed in October 2022. It follows anĀ initial evaluation of IWS published in April 2019. The objectives were to tackle poverty and social exclusion through sustainable employment in parts of North and South Wales.

Evaluation of the Degree Apprenticeship Programme
The objectives of the Degree Apprenticeship programme are to help better align the apprenticeship system to deliver the higher-level skills needed by employers and to help enable progression from the existing apprenticeship programme into HE.
