This webinar will bring together speakers from local and regional government, delivery organisations and partner bodies to share practical lessons on designing, delivering and evaluating effective health and employment support. The discussion will explore challenges, successes, and emerging priorities for local areas.
Across the UK, 8.5 million people are out of work because of poor health, creating a growing challenge for local and national policymakers.
High-quality, locally tailored work and health support can play an important role in helping people move into, remain in, or return to good work. There is already significant activity in this space, including DWP’s WorkWell pilots, and the NHS‘s Health and Growth Accelerators. However, there is still much to learn about what makes local programmes effective in practice.
This webinar is the first in a series delivered through the Department for Work and Pensions’ Labour Market Evidence Programme, which aims to help local policymakers better understand what works in improving labour market outcomes for out-of-work and in-work individuals.
