Two in ten out-of-work disabled people say they want to work, but only one-in-ten get help to find work each year. This limits opportunity for disabled people and holds back economic growth.
As part of its Pathways to Work Green Paper, the Government proposed an expansion of employment support with an extra £1.8 billion in investment over the next four years, as well as changes to levels of and eligibility for incapacity and disability benefits.
This new L&W briefing, produced in partnership with Joseph Rowntree Foundation, looks at how big this increase in support is, the number of people it might help into work, and the wider changes needed to make the biggest difference.
