The UK labour market faces significant challenges, with a shrinking workforce, hard-to-fill vacancies and new skills in demand. Post-pandemic, post-Brexit and with a new government in place, a step change in approach is needed to get more people into jobs, boost skills and expand opportunities.
At our joint annual Housing, Learning and Work Conference with Communities that Work, we brought our joined-up thinking to the social housing, employment and skills sectors. We explored how economic growth and prosperity can be shared, the opportunities that devolution of power bring, and how green jobs can help to achieve sustainable growth across more communities. We married the political dimension with practical considerations to understand how we can best come together to drive new and better chances for all.
